The Taipale ADAS is a modular on-board computer that can be used for several
control and warning purposes. It is also embeddable into existing information systems in a vehicle.
The device produces reliable data and conclusions to critical safety issues, such as
the condition of a car or truck and wheel and if a driver is disabled to continue driving
safely because of fatigue, or the use of alcohol or drugs. There will also be available a monitoring module for
economic driving.
The key in innovation is collecting and processing acoustic or acceleration information efficiently but
using only standard, low cost components and then analysing this data. This is done by intelligent and
adaptive processing algorithms utilizing digital signal processing and data mining methodology.
Main applications are:
SENSIOR (a Dynamic Link to Economic and Safe Driving)
New tool for driver training and incentives
Objective evaluation of driving behaviour for safer and more economical driving
Savings in vehicle maintenance costs
Internal three-axis acceleration sensor
Handling of powertrain, cargo and driving controls including pedals, steering wheel and gears

SensiorTrainer for professional driver training and driving ability evaluation
measurement of movements and accelerations of the vehicle
four cameras recording traffic environment and vehicle handling
measurement of vehicle control pedals real-time with STEPS module
storing of all exceptions and over-reaching of statistical limits with exact time stamp
analyzation of driving behaviour with typical driving error recognition
for classification purposes
wireless data sending to service provider´s web report service

STEPS Module
easy and quick to install in every vehicle
advanced pedal position measurement
produces real-time 0%...100% position of gas, clutch and brake pedals
integration with vehicle-buses are not needed

ATMOS (an Acoustic Tyre and Wheel Monitoring System)
Warns the driver of an approaching tire breakage, loose wheel or locked-up brake
First application for trucks, second application for cars and vans
Acoustic data collected by microphone, sound is analyzed by ATMOS
Advanced pre-warning of possible failures by comparing data of each tire to historical data

DRIAB (a Driving Ability Monitoring System for the Driver)
Collects individual data of each driver through acceleration and dynamic behaviour of the vehicle
Compares historical driving profile with current way of driving
Suggests driver to stop driving if obvious risk of sleeping while driving
Limits or interrupts driving when recognizing typical signs of use of alcohol or drugs
